Monty Alexander - Love & Happiness Samples
Monty Alexander's version of "Love & Happiness" has gotta be one of the dopest soul-jazz tracks ever recorded. It's been sampled by the likes of Pete Rock, The Beatnuts, The Large Professor, DJ Premier, Q-Tip, K-Def, etc. My personal favorite would have to be either "Let Off A Couple", or Pete Rock's "Rhyme Writer". Drop us a line in the comments section and let us know which version you're feeling the most.

Loving the Large Pro but Beatnuts - Let Off A Couple is a classic. Simple, not changing the sample too much from the original, classic Beatnuts production.
ReplyDeleteThe Apache flip is so dope. damn!
ReplyDeleteThat is my flavor 100% lol
A local MC from Detroit named Paradime flipped the beat on a song called "The Pick Up Line". It is funny as hell.
