Mid-Atlantic Hip Hop Volume 4 (1992-2001)

Here's volume 4 from my mid-atlantic series. The region has me hooked, for good reason. One state that has always piqued my interest for hip hop is Delaware. I know 2 groups from that state total. The Outfit is relatively well known among underground heads. The producer, Marchitect, put a single in 1994 called 'Dead In Your Trax'. I've looked high and low for this one and can't seem to track it down. If any of our readers happen to have this and could share it that would be most appreciated! I want to find out about other Delaware artists as well. Wilmington probably had an active scene in the early/mid 90's but it's hard to find out about unless you actually live there. The surprise here is First State Alliance giving us the only other Delaware track in the lineup. The whole mid-atlantic represents here so dont sleep on the rest of the tracks.

mid-atlantic hip hop volume 2 (1991-2006)

Here's the 2nd part of my mid-atlantic series. There's something about this region and the music that comes out of it that really captivates me. From the rasta hooks of Brothers Mosts 'On Target' to the unbelievably smooth sound of 'How N Tha World' from L.O.C., this mix goes bump in the night.

mid-atlantic hip hop vol 1 (1993-1998)

Hang on to the wheel high rollers, here's a taste of hip hop from the 'mid-atlantic' for your ears today. Check the tracklist for year and location info. A few of these tracks combine styles and the blend is hot. Culturally, the mid-atlantic region is a mix of old world east coast mentality, and southern 'show me' practicality. Perhaps it's not ironic that many people from Maryland or Virginia identify themselves as southerners even though they are east coast as New York for instance. New England is an area unto itself, and so is the mid-atlantic.

Play it in your living room, bump it in your car. This one will have you hitting rewind. Here's your meat and taters.
