Recently, the T.R.O.Y. forum at Philaflava.com had yet another compilation/mix competition, this time revolving around artists with histories or affiliations, however currently strained, with Bad Boy Records. While some of the artists who were actually signed to Bad Boy tend to be polarizing figures, even the most diehard anti-jiggy boom-bap dinosaurs cannot deny the quality of early material from the likes of Children Of The Corn. All of the mixes are pretty enjoyable and great fun for nerds liable to contemplate six degrees of separation in the rap world, so check them out. At the very least, take the time to bear witness to young Murda Mase ferociously ripping a track to shreds with admirable skill and charisma on "Drug Wars," a track that made it onto our world-famous list of 100 great obscure tracks.
