SKYPAGER: Our Mailing List/ Group

Do you know the importance of our Skypager?

Readers - the T.R.O.Y. team recently had a meeting and we thought to ourselves, "after Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Friendfeed, RSS, the Forum, Google Friend Connect/Blogger Follow ... what else is left in terms of a method of communicating with our audience?"

And then it hit us. We need a mailing list. For extra stuff. What stuff you ask? Well here are few ideas that came to mind:

  • Updates pertaining to our ongoing projects
  • News relevant to 21st century aging b-boys and b-girls
  • Contests
  • Networking opportunities for our readers moonlight as movers and shakers
  • Media sharing - we can get each other hooked like crackhead junkies
  • More great stuff that's exclusive to the Skypager (will not appear on the blog)
Now people tend to think that a pager's foul, but we think it represents our vibe well. If you sign up for the list, you're also joining the group, and you have the choice between three types of email notifications as well as the ability to opt out of email altogether and simply participate by visiting the Skypager googlegroup website. This is still a work in progress and we're still figuring out which portion of our audience to aim this at, so bear with us.

Right now, I expect that the above mentioned items, plus digest-mailings of the content of this blog and the All Eye Seeing shared items will comprise most of what goes on. We won't abuse your trust and flood your inbox. All comments in the group will be subject to moderation. But really anything can happen, and Skypager will be whatever we make of it together, so sign up here, or for those viewing our site directly, look to your right for the little pager. We look forward to hearing from you.

  2. I'm not sure what you're asking but if you look to the right you'll see a pager with an email sign up form. All you have to do is submit your email and you'll be signed up for approval. Once approved you'll be able to visit the site and see the old messages, and you'll receive the new ones via email.
