Great track from a great album, he even says “we’ve been waiting on this break for a long time”. Clever. I always hears “what about the doubters” as “what about the downloads”. Even before they invented them. Double clever.

De La Soul- Potholes in My Lawn
De La also use the drums in Stone Age and Millie Pulled a Pistol on Santa (would have been seasonal) but here they use the piano yeah.

How the fluck did he get so cool. Could have also used Saturday Night Live by Masta Ace which uses large bits of the break, and has Premier on it. KEVIN BACON.

Choice MCs- This is the B-Side
Better than the A-side. Pianos and that.

Public Enemy- Brothers Gonna Work It Out (dub)
They did a track called The B-Side Wins again but this was an A-side. Weird. Could have included Miuzi Weighs a Ton too, if it would mix nice.

BTX- This Jam is Black
Super, a sprightly number from the great Select label.

DJ Jazzy Jeff and Fresh Prince- Jazzy’s Groove
Final track and cut short before Grover Washington Jr comes in just in case it provoked a facebook group to try to post a mix of shouty rap metal instead.

Crusaders For Real Hip Hop - We Love The Hotties (Remix) VLS 1993

Before I start writing a description, i want to say R.I.P Tony D. In 1992, Tony D formed a group called Crusaders For Real Hip Hop right after his first solo album. Their album was titled "Deja Vu - It's '82" and released on Profile Records. Today, I'm bringing you their second 12" off the album which features four tracks; an album version, 2 remixes, and one that was previously unreleased. The 12"s starts off with the remix version of "We Love The Hotties". This remix clearly shows that Tony D was a genius on the production tip. It sounds way ahead of its time and is clearly better than the original which was already dope! Next we have a previously unreleased track titled "La Cosa Nostra" which wasn't included on their album. It then follows with May I Continue (Remix). The B-Side has that 90's rough flavor to it. This is another perfect 12" to own, everything you could of have was included! Enjoy,

New Jersey Underground Part 5 (1991-1997)

It's with a certain amount of sadness that I post this batch of Jersey tracks today. In light of his recent death, Tony D's beats bring out the nostalgia in me. Many of his beats were classic and remind me of my own personal glory days back in the early/mid 90's. Ah. to be young, sprung and hip again. To this day, there exists a large archive of unreleased material produced by the 16-stone Italian stallion. Perhaps one of the small contemporary labels putting out unreleased music from the golden era can arrange to give proper treatment and exposure to this undiscovered treasure trove. Tracks produced by Tony include numbers 1,2,3,5,6,(I think), 8.9.10, and 13. What we have here is mostly Trenton material, but some artists are from Jersey City, Newark, and Camden too.

I'm in shock so I don't know what to say, but this I know, Tony D was one of the nicest guys in the game. He never fully received the props he deserved and there wasn't a time he wasn't down to help out others. He was a friend of T.R.O.Y. and on behalf of all of the members of this blog I want to say rest in peace homie.

Hamilton man, 42, killed when car overturns

HAMILTON--A township man died after losing control of his vehicle turning onto Bunting Avenue from Lalor Street yesterday evening, police said.

Police were investigating why Anthony Depula, 42, lost control of his car at 6:20 p.m. The 2002 purple Jeep went up over the curb and struck the fence of St. John's Cemetery, causing the vehicle to overturn onto its passenger side.

Depula was unconscious at the scene and was transported to Capital Health Systems at Fuld, where he was pronounced dead, according to police. He was not wearing a seat belt and sustained an injury to his neck.

Known as "Tony" to the neighbors, they said Depula and his family lived on Bunting Avenue, but police would not confirm that information. Depula's car had a white posterboard on the passenger's side with the words "Cha-Ching Records" etched on the side, a Hamilton address and a 609 area code number.

About a dozen neighbors rushed to the overturned vehicle, shattering the windshield to try to get the man out, said John Skoglund, from the 200 block of Henry Street.

"We tried to get him out. He was too heavy to get out through the windshield," Skoglund said, adding that "it was a while, a good 10 minutes" before police or other emergency personnel responded at the scene. But police said they were there within a minute of the accident being called in.

A group of neighbors had pushed the truck up, getting Depula out from the passenger's side of the car, Skoglund said, adding that while they were pulling him out, the police came and assisted them.

Joe Crupi, of the 600 block of Lalor Street, said Depula was blue in the face and unresponsive when he was pulled out of the car.

A Henry Street woman who did not want her name printed, said she saw the overturned car and people rushing to help the man from her window.

She said she saw Depula's wife run up the street screaming for her husband, but that emergency workers wouldn't let her see him.

Some of the witnesses gathered and a nearby neighbor said the intersection is dangerous, with people whizzing by on a one-way street, and some others occasionally driving on the wrong side of the road.

Pointing to a baseball field on Bunting Avenue, Crupi said children walk up the street to play there all the time.

"It could have been a lot worse," Crupi said.

Hamilton police officer Brian Carvale is investigating the accident. Police are asking anyone who was with Depula prior to the crash to call (609) 581-4000 or (609) 581-4024.
