Ego Trip's Great Fuckin' Clean Versions

"This one definitely goes out on a censorship tip
So everybody sit back, relax and have a champagne sip"

None of us like clean radio versions! Every time your hear something, it's always gotta be raw uncensored! That's the truth! Some artists just have their curse words bleeped on for their clean versions while other actually record a new version with changed vocals. Some don't have new vocals but instead of it just being muted, scratching and sound effects are used to replace these blanks. A list titled "Great Fuckin' Clean Versions" from Ego Trip's Book of Rap List basically listed the clean versions that were worth listening to. Like Thun said, "Ego Trip made it a hot list, we made it a hot compilation". Last year, I compiled DJ Premier's Underacknowledged Cuts from Ego Trip's list. It received props all over the net.. even from Elliot Wilson! Enjoy this one!

Wu-Tang Clan “Dirty & Stinkin’ (Bootleg Vinyl)”

And by Wu-Tang Clan I really mean the one and only... Ol' Dirty Bastard. This was by far one of my favorite non-album tracks that ever surfaced. This bootleg vinyl was another one of my prized scores from the mid to late 90's while I scoured all over Chicago buying just about anything Wu-Tang I could get my hands on (I think I'm still paying off my credit card bills).

So that was the good and now comes the bad and the ugly. In 2001 there was a promo cd single that surfaced containing some horrible whack ass Main Mix and a Remix for "Dirty & Stinkin'." This time around they threw in Method Man to try and save things. Complete failure. Almost as bad, in the same year there was Phil Collins cover album called Urban Renewal. Ol' Dirty's contributions was "Sussudio." Even DJ Clark Kent had his hand in it and they totally killed it, in a very bad way. DJ Mister Cee “The Best Of Jay-Z”

Here it is, the final installment of the DJ Mister Cee “Best Of” mixtape series. Although Jigga-Man is not one of my favorite artists, I thought it was very important to present the entire library. My review wasn't going so well, but I think turntablelab says it best in the following two blurbs:

“Mister Cee goes in hard (Aquaman style!) for this comprehensive and really fascinating career-spanning Jigga collection. iLLSTYLE LIVE! 'Music from the Elektra Entertainment' (CD 1995)

Here is the super rare promo cd version of "iLLSTYLE LIVE!" from 1995. Some of you probably already have the vinyl rip but guess what? I had it too, it's time to forget about the cracks and pops and upgrade to the digital version.

The IllStyle Live LP was a live recording promoting all the rap acts from Elektra Records & EastWest Records. They had artists like Ol' Dirty Bastard, Das EFX, Supernatural, The Juggaknots, 8-Off, ... As you might already know, most of the artists were left with shelved albums. Luckily, a few of these albums leaked throughout the years.

While all the performances are on point, there isn't anything close to the Ol' Dirty session. ODB mentions how he didn't want to come to the show on some classic funny ish. He then rocks a freestyle with Buddha Monk and 60 Second Assassin then starts to talk again and finally performs Brooklyn Zoo & Shimmy Shimmy Ya. Pete Rock is also the DJ of the night.

Ego Trip included iLLSTYLE LIVE! on their "Official All-The-Way-Live Albums" list. It still remains one of the greatest live performances ever released on wax to this day!
